Councillor NA Amutenya -

Council Member Nangula Albertina Amutenya, born on 01 October 1992 in Windhoek, Namibia, is a dedicated and hardworking leader who currently serves as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Windhoek for the period 2025–2026.

 

She was inaugurated on 05 December 2025 following the 26 November 2025 Regional and Local Authority elections.

 

A proud affiliate of the SWAPO Party, Councillor Amutenya is recognized as one of the most reserved yet highly committed young leaders of her time, bringing energy and focus to municipal governance.

 

Councillor Amutenya holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration (Level 8) from the International University of Management (IUM), obtained in 2020. She also earned an Advanced Diploma in Office Administration (NQF Level 6) from International Training College Lingua between 2016 and 2019, along with a Certificate in Computer Studies from ZB TEK Computer Training in 2015. Her secondary education was completed at Centaurus High School, where she achieved her Grade 10 and Grade 12 certificates.

 

Her professional journey reflects a strong foundation in administration and governance. She worked as an Administration Officer intern at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reform, gaining valuable experience in human resource processes. In 2023, she served as a Secretariat member for the CBM Review under the Ministry of Agriculture’s Rural Water Department. Additionally, Councillor Amutenya contributed to local governance as a Research Assistant at the Municipal Council of Windhoek for six months, demonstrating her commitment to public service and policy development.

 

As Deputy Mayor, Councillor Amutenya is passionate about transforming Windhoek into a modern, inclusive, and sustainable city. Her heart lies in community development, with a particular focus on improving basic services, infrastructure, and youth empowerment programs. She envisions a city where Windhoek Residents receives equal attention and development opportunities, ensuring that rural communities thrive alongside urban areas.

 

She is fluent in English, Oshiwambo, and Afrikaans, enabling her to engage effectively with diverse communities.
