
Council Member Jesaya Ikali, born on 23 May 1989, is a Namibian national and a newly elected Municipal Council Member of the City of Windhoek, representing the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) party. He assumed office following the Regional and Local Authority elections held on 26 November 2025 and was inaugurated on 05 December 2025.
Councillor Ikali holds an Honours Degree in Education (Accounting and Business Studies) from the University of Namibia, obtained in 2016. He completed his secondary education at Uukule Secondary School in 2009.
He has built a solid career in education, specializing in commerce subjects. Since 2014, he has been teaching Accounting and Entrepreneurship at Jan Jonker Afrikaner Secondary School, where he currently serves as a full-time teacher. He also worked as a tutor for NAMCOL between 2016 and 2018, providing academic support in accounting. His professional journey reflects a strong commitment to learner development and academic excellence.
Councillor Ikali has demonstrated leadership and service in various capacities. He served as Subject Head, overseeing curriculum implementation and learner performance improvement. For six years, he was a School Board Member, contributing to governance and strategic decision-making. Additionally, he held the position of Sports Chairman, coordinated school sporting activities, and acted as an Athletics Coach, mentoring learners in track and field events. His involvement extended to being an active member of the Cluster Sports Committee, promoting collaboration among schools and advancing sports development.
He is skilled in computer applications, public speaking, and presentation techniques. He is recognized for his leadership qualities, ability to work collaboratively, and dedication to community development.
Outside his professional duties, Councillor Ikali enjoys engaging in educational initiatives, sports development, and activities that foster youth empowerment.
