The report function is a pre-programmed function that only works on some layers and some objects in the map. You first have to click on the select button, select an object of interest and then click on the report button.

If a report is available for this map object, then a new page with the report information will appear.

This report can be printed for use in documents or other reports.

Printing

All views on the GeoViewer can be printed on any printer at any size depending on the size of the paper that the printer can print on. In the report area the print set-up button can be used to set the layout of your prints of the map.

  • You can enter a Title or uncheck the box to print no title for the Map.
  • The legend for the map can also be printed if required. This option makes the space available for the map smaller if it is checked on, but with the legend all symbols and colours are visible on the same page as the map.
  • The scale bar can also be printed underneath the map, or this option can be left out.
  • The north arrow of the map can be printed with the map as well as the date and time that you are doing the print.
  • Another option is to print the URL of the map so that you can easily refer back to the website where you have accessed the map from.
  • Map size can be set to fit the available space on the page or to a specific scale required.
After setting the print options, you can press the print button to print to a network or local printer.

All reports viewed by the report button have the ability to print. This button makes use of the print function on your browser.

Preferences

The Preference menu sets the map units, centroid and status bar display of the installed viewer on your PC. On this menu it is possible to:
  • Display your mouse position on the status bar
  • Display your map scale of your current view on the status bar
  • Display the width of the map in your current view.

This function does however have one limitation, you can only digitise 35 points at a time.

Co-ords

The co-ords function is ideal if you want the co-ordinates of one point. Just click on the button and click on the point on the map which you require co-ordinates for. These will then appear in a pop-up menu.
