Does the City of Windhoek provide financial sponsorship for study purposes?
No. We only grant bursaries to prospective students primarily as a form of long term recruitment in fields that are scarce in the labour market.
Does the City of Windhoek offer bursaries?
Yes. Bursary needs are determined on an annual basis as a form of long term recruitment. Once the type and number of bursaries to be granted has been determined, we will advertise such in the local newspapers. Application forms will only be made available to interested applicants once bursaries have been advertised.
Does the City of Windhoek offer practical attachment opportunities?
Yes. We provide experiential learning opportunities to students who are studying courses for which the curricula require compulsory practical exposure. Availability of such opportunities will depend on our capacity to supervise and evaluate interns.
I want to conduct my research project at the City of Windhoek, what is the procedure to be followed?
Students who wish to conduct their research at the City of Windhoek are required to submit, to the Human Resources Development Division for consideration, a draft research proposal (please do not get approval from your lecturer yet), detailing the problem statement and the methodology they intend to use for the proposed research. Students are also encouraged not to select topics that are of a sensitive nature or topics that could harm the image of the City of Windhoek.
Does the City of Windhoek provide training to the general public?

What assistance does the City of Windhoek offer to other municipalities in relation to training?
We accommodate employees from smaller municipalities (on request) in areas of generic training, e.g. Supervisory Skills, Peace Officer Training, - provided they bear the cost of travel and accommodation. Smaller municipalities that have signed Cooperative Agreements with City of Windhoek may also request for job attachments through the Office of our Mayor.
